I am a wife and mother of four beautiful daughters. For the last 20+ years I was a home maker, stay at home mom and evolved into a full time job outside of the home mom. My back ground is in customer service. As long as I have worked outside my home it has been in a customer service type job. Customer service is in my blood, I am always working to make the experience of individuals who I service a great one.
Almost three years ago I left the corporate world and my desk job behind. Not knowing for sure what I wanted to do, I started to explore what was available and rewarding for me. I tried some volunteer opportunities which were very rewarding, but I wasn’t satisfied. About I year into my search I had the opportunity to partner up with 2 beautiful women and bring together an afternoon of healing through yoga. It was then that I discovered the next chapter for me. I discovered Thai Bodywork. I took the opportunity to lie down on a mat and experience the most spiritual and relaxing body movement I have ever known. It was then that I knew what I wanted to do.
The next week I could not get enough information fast enough. I needed to know everything I could and where could I go to learn how to do that. Since then, I enrolled into the certification program at Thai Bodywork School in Evanston, Illinois. I continue to return to Thai Bodywork School.
This practice of body movement has changed how I look at relaxation and healing. Thai bodywork is a great way to remove tension, promote flexibility, ease aches and pains and promote healing. When a client is on the mat, all they need to do is relax and breathe and the practitioner does the work. As a practitioner, we also get to promote our own flexibility, relaxation and healing. I think one of my favorite things about being a Thai Bodywork practitioner is the look and no words affect the client’s leaves with. I look of bliss and a thank you.
As I journey through this new world of movement I hope to bring it to as many people as possible, so they can share in the benefits and joy.
Most recently I have been given an opportunity to enter the world of yoga teaching. I have found that it is very rewarding. I am now proud to add yoga teacher to my title here at Abundant Joy.
